The most important leadership skill I was never taught:
Listening without solving.
But it’s not the most important because “it helps your team develop their problem-solving skills."
It’s the most important because:
• Sometimes, people just want to feel heard. Jumping to solutions can leave them feeling dismissed. • People are more committed to solutions they come up with themselves. • It builds trust and fosters a safe space for your team to share openly. • It ensures you fully understand the problem before taking action.
To be a great leader is to be a great listener.
Listen without solving.
PS: Are your "fix-it" habits holding back your team from reaching their full potential?
